Linux in your pocket / SQFMI Beepy
This is a tiny computer that fits in the palm of your hand. A pocketable cyberdeck. The full power of linux. Hackable. Tactile. Simple. Featuring a very unique reflective memory lcd, a physical keyboard and powered by a Raspberry Pi Zero. This is Beepy by SQFMI. Very useful as a portable pen-testing tool or for SSH'ing in to a server for some quick maintenance. It suffers from one huge flaw though.

Meshtastic Problems - And Another Off Grid Messaging System
Переглядів 29 тис.Місяць тому
Meshtastic allows you to send off grid messages between devices without having to use the internet or a cellular connection. But Meshtastic isn't perfect, especially not when used for large mesh networks. However there exists a different, older and more mature project, that does basically the same thing as Meshtastic, but tackles some of the issues differently. Meshtastic devices used in this v...

If you don't like 3D printers get this one / Bambu Lab P1S
Переглядів 7 тис.4 місяці тому
3D printing used to be about building, calibrating and repairing these erratic and slow machines while learning from their inevitable countless failures. But that is now a thing of the past. The new generation of 3D printers are almost as much of a dependant appliance as the regular old 2D printer. This is the Bambu Lab P1S. It is a 3D printer, that makes 3D printing about the end result and no...
Should you get a Talkpod a36plus?
Переглядів 6 тис.4 місяці тому
If you’re interested in wireless communication, like HackRF, Flipper Zero or Meshtastic you might be thinking about getting into amateur radio, or at least you should be. While you’re thinking, getting a handheld radio is a cheap and great way of dipping your toes into the hobby. But what are handheld radios used for? How does a radio repeater work? And how does the Talkpod a36plus compare to t...
WiFi Pentesting Just Became Easy / Angry Oxide
Переглядів 57 тис.4 місяці тому
Angry Oxide is a new easy WiFi penetration testing tool that collects WiFi handshakes, either passively or through various clever and fully autonomous manipulation methods. The methods used are similar to those found in a Pwnagotchi, a cute DIY WiFi eating digital pet that will even detect Flipper Zero's. But Angry Oxide attempts to be a bit more sneaky than the blunt and aggressive deauthentic...
The Most Hackable Radio / Quansheng UV-K5(8) / UV-K6 / UV-K5
Переглядів 81 тис.5 місяців тому
With a custom firmware this radio can send off grid messages at very long distances and receive a far wider frequency range than intended. This is the Quansheng UV-K5(8). It is an extremely cheap dual band handheld radio, but unlike similar radios before it, this might be the most hackable radio. Update: There is an even better firmware available by kamilsss655, which has all the same features ...

Hello sir, thank you for your videos. I have a question about the Clifford edition of HackRF: When I bought my HackRF, there were two versions: the Chinese and the American. Supposedly the Chinese version was not blocked in the bands reserved for cell phones. I would like to know if the Clifford edition has this lock.

    • @sn0ren
      @sn0ren 8 годин тому

I’m not aware of any blocked cell phone bands in any of the HackRF variants. The only difference between the Chinese and the “American” version is who made it. The designs are open source and identical.

Can't decide which display would have been better for this, but let's just say that this non-backlit screen makes way more sense for a handheld that doesn't really rely on intense graphics and that can be remotely accessed, makes more sense compared to a gaming handheld. So there.

It would be really cool to see a version of this (or a competing product) that uses the keyboard, form factor, and square aspect ratio of the Blackberry passport. As many software problems as that phone had, the keyboard and text-centric form factor made it one of my favorite mobile device experiences to date, and taking those elements from it and using them in a Linux pocket computer like this one would be an instant purchase for me (provided it didn't share the few crippling issues this device has).

wow, a lot of hate for this in the comments… It’s a nice piece of quirky tech - a few people buying this to play around with is hardly generating ewaste, especially when the keyboard is repurposed from a blackberry and you could use the pi in other projects if you no longer want to use it with this. I talk to my friends through matrix so this paired with a terminal matrix client could be neat for when I’m not at my computer.

the issue is it has to beat an old android phone and a bluetooth/usb otg keyboard which IMHO, it doesn't, postmarketOS makes a lot of older powerful devices go a long way, only issue is the lack of mainline kernel support for a lot of phones, but you can even tape a zero style SBC to the back of it and ssh in from the phone, works great and costs very little in comparison, I get about 36 hours on a single charge with a battery bank, and all it cost was stuff I had lying around my apartment and an OTG adapter. I'd rather see investment in postmarketOS and the like than vaporware like these things, they're fine as a niche but it really doesn't solve anything that can't be done with a bit of patience and time invested
